Eric Anthony Ivory began working in education more than 35 years ago beginning with coaching soccer at a private high school in Alameda California and eventually the College of Alameda of which he is also an alum. He began his career as an adjunct counselor at Ohlone College in Fremont California, moved onto counseling for California State University East Bay (Hayward) for the EOP program. He eventually ended up at Modesto Junior College, Modesto California, where he helped establish the Umoja program in 2017. He was awarded the first statewide Umoja Faculty award in 2022. He concluded his career at Modesto Junior College.
He also has over 15 years of experience in merchandising with most being in sales including but not limited to financial planning with various companies such as Equitable, and Prudential BacheSecurities.
He is an avid soccer fan and former player having starting playing the beautiful game at the age of 13. Ivory played on the varsity soccer team at Berkeley High school as a freshman and was recruited by University of California Berkeley as a freshman. Played amateur and semi professional with ending his playing career with over age teams a few years ago. He loves vegetable gardening, art, fishing, and travel just to name a few of the many things he likes to do.He earned his Associate degree from College of Alameda, Bachelor of Studio Art and Master of Science in Counseling from California State University East Bay (Hayward).
